The Big Loop

BOO!

I rode from my place here in Pacific Grove, up Holman Hwy to HWY1 south, Carmel Valley Rd to Arroyo Seco, and once I got to the Arroyo Seco campgrounds, I kept riding thru the park until I got to Indians Rd, which you can tell is nothing of a "road" at all.  its inactive fire road at this point.  On Indians I rode thru the back side of the Ventana Wilderness into Ft. Hunter Liggett, where i was amazed with the acorns!  Like free veggie burger mix.  I can only imagine the life before the Rancheros arrived.  A paradise of sorts.  God's country.

From Ft. Hunter Liggett it up was up and over Nacimiento Ferguson Rd.  At this point the moon had peaked out, and being up top around 3,000 i guess, its above the fog line.  so the scene is like this.  I had been on the bike for a number of hours by then, and plus i had been on the bike the day prior, sleeping on Indians Rd.  As I'm riding the bike down Nacimiento I decide to limit how much i use my backpacking headlamp, so i ride in the moon light, only using light in the darkest of Redwood grove turns.  The moon light reflects off of the fog, making it this silver reflection that is slowly moving, doing its own thing.  totally trippy.  Amazing!  As i was ridding under moon light, it began to feel as if somehow i was almost flying.

At the bottom of Nacimiento Ferguson Rd, I camped at Kirk Creek, where i had later discovered i had an issue with a tyre.  Basically it was pulling apart, blistering effect, and leaking air.  So I had to fix that b4 heading south, which wasnt much of a fix at all, a mend.

From Kirk Creek it was straight home to Pacific Grove, with a leaky front tyre.
